PORTARIA
A lovely village overlooking the Pagasitikos bay, surrounded by trees and flowers which are in abudance. lt is a real balcony, where you can admire the fascinating sea - view and the other villages set lower down.
Portaria has etsablished itself as a favourite amongst Pelion visitors.
In the country side, in karavos district there are plenty of waterfalls while the water spring is about a 10m walk.
The Byzantine monastry of Prodromos is situated at the top of the village. It is worth saying that the cultural activities are organised and maintained in the area as the people in the village reconstruct these customs every year.
The most popular one that takes place every year is the traditional "pelioritikos" wedding.
